On October 28, YOSHIKI stirred concern among fans with a cryptic update on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding the boy group he produces, "XY."

The group, consisting of 13 members, debuted in June last year after an audition program. Recently, the shocking announcement of former NEWS member Yuya Tegoshi's joining the group on October 25 had already generated significant buzz.

In his recent post, YOSHIKI expressed, “I am considering stepping down as the producer of @xy___official, taking into account the feelings of the fans. I hope for the best situation for everyone involved.” This statement raised eyebrows among followers.

He further elaborated, stating, “In making this announcement, two significant promises made to stakeholders were broken. I can discuss this further if needed. I wish for the members' success and happiness. Right now, I am focusing on my current work and rehabilitation.”

YOSHIKI also revealed that he had been instructed to reduce the number of contracted members for XY, despite his insistence that 13 members are necessary. “I am probably discussing this for the first time; even the members might not be aware of it,” he confessed.

Fans responded with concern, commenting, “What could have happened?” “I’m shocked by the sudden news,” and “I think it would be better to discuss the meaning behind ‘considering resignation’ face-to-face.” Others expressed sadness, urging YOSHIKI to speak with the members and make a choice they can all accept.
