Former KAT-TUN member Junnosuke Taguchi makes host debut, marking another unexpected career shift

Former KAT-TUN member Junnosuke Taguchi has surprised fans once again by announcing his debut as a host in Fukuoka on November 21. The announcement, shared on his Instagram Stories, marks a bold new chapter in his post-idol career.

Since leaving KAT-TUN in 2016, Taguchi has pursued a variety of ventures, from launching his own agency to working as a solo artist. His career took a significant turn in 2019 when he was arrested on charges related to cannabis law violations, though he later returned to the public eye with a suspended sentence. In recent years, Taguchi has focused on the hospitality sector, taking on the role of producer for the show club A-MEN’S TOKYO in Shinjuku, and opening Junno’s Table, a café designed around the “ikemen” (handsome men) concept in Shibuya.

Taguchi’s decision to enter the host industry, however, has raised eyebrows. According to sources within the industry, his move comes after expressing concerns about the financial viability of his previous business ventures. It’s believed that hosting could offer significant earning potential, especially considering the luxury items and high-value services offered at host clubs.

As he embarks on this new career path, it’s clear that Taguchi continues to seek new opportunities outside of the traditional idol mold. His host debut reflects his willingness to explore unconventional avenues and adapt to an evolving entertainment landscape, even as he steps further away from the world that made him famous.
