Former HKT48 / AKB48 member Mio Tomonaga (26) has announced her marriage. 

In a written announcement, Tomonaga reported, "It's a sudden announcement, but at this time, I have registered my marriage with Soto Yamauchi-san, whom I have been dating for some time." She added, "I am here today thanks to the support of many people. Thank you very much." 

On her husband, Tomonaga shared, "After meeting him, I've learned what it means to love someone, the warmth of love, and the happiness of being together with someone I love. Everyday is filled with gentle moments." 

Tomonaga made the senbatsu for the first time in HKT48's debut single "Suki! Suki! Skip!" released in March of 2013. She also made the senbatsu for AKB48's "Sayonara Crawl" in May that same year. Later in September, she became the double center with Meru Tashima for HKT48's "Melon Juice." Then in 2014, she officially became a concurrent member of HKT48 and AKB48. Since graduating in January of 2020, she has been active in a wide range of fields including modeling and producing brands.
