Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada have teamed up for an exciting collaboration! Their new song "JANE DOE" will serve as the ending theme for the upcoming film 'Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc," that's scheduled to hit theaters on September 19. The track was written and composed by Yonezu, with Utada lending her vocals. Alongside this announcement, the cover art for "JANE DOE" drawn by Yonezu has been unveiled, and comments from both artists have been released. Additionally, a teaser video featuring the song’s intro has been published on YouTube.

Based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, 'Chainsaw Man' is a dark hero action story that follows Denji, a boy who harbors a devil within him, as he works as a Devil Hunter. The upcoming movie,'Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc" continues the story from the TV series (aired from October to December 2022), depicting Denji's unpredictable fate after a chance encounter with a mysterious girl named Reze. The movie’s opening theme will also be a newly written song by Yonezu titled "IRIS OUT."

On "JANE DOE," Yonezu commented, "When I started writing this song, I didn’t have a particular singer in mind, but as I worked on it, I became convinced that it had to be Utada-san. So I reached out to her with an offer."

Utada shared, "I had no idea how it would turn out, but I really wanted to try, so I took on the challenge. As singer-songwriters who both pursue our individuality, we found common ground in some areas, and were surprised by our differences in others. As we explored and pushed forward, I think we uncovered new sides to ourselves, and I hope listeners can feel that too."

"IRIS OUT / JANE DOE" will be released as a double A-side single on September 24. It will be available in three different versions: a limited "IRIS OUT edition," a limited "JANE DOE edition," and a regular edition.

The "JANE DOE edition" includes a CD in a “fragment case,” along with a DVD containing the movie’s full trailer, the music video for Yonezu’s "KICK BACK," and live performance footage. Meanwhile, the "IRIS OUT edition" comes in a special pouch package containing a Polaroid of Reze and an acrylic stand, both illustrated by Yonezu.

All versions include a serial number as a first press bonus, which will allow fans to enter the second round of advance ticket applications for Yonezu’s 2026 national tour, 'Kenshi Yonezu 2026 TOUR / GHOST.' This pre-sale period runs from September 22 (the day of single release) to September 28.
