The sequel to the hit drama 'VIVANT,' starring Masato Sakai, is set to premiere in July as a two-part season airing back-to-back. A commemorative video titled "VIVANT NEXT TO YOU" has also been released on YouTube.

Originally aired in July 2023, 'VIVANT' follows Yusuke Nogi (Sakai), a trading company employee sent to the Republic of Balka to recover 13 billion yen that was mistakenly transferred by his company. After being caught in a bombing and wrongly accused, he goes on the run and teams up with public security officer Mamoru Nozaki (Hiroshi Abe) and doctor Kaoru Yuzuki (Fumi Nikaido).

However, Nogi is secretly an intelligence agent for "Beppan," a covert unit under Japan’s Self-Defense Forces. As he investigates an international terrorist organization, he uncovers a shocking truth—its leader is his long-lost father. The story continues from the drama’s final scene, where a mysterious "red bun" reappears before him.

Filming took place in Azerbaijan, with Abe, Nikaido, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Tori Matsuzaka reprising their roles. Katsuo Fukuzawa returns as director.

Sakai shared that he feels both relieved and excited, adding that the sequel will place Nogi more at the center as an active member of Beppan.
