AKB48 member Oshima Yuko updated her blog with a message about the election that took place on June 9th.

On June 9th, Oshima handed off her first place crown to this year's winner Maeda Atsuko. Although fans were quite upset that Oshima had to step down from the coveted first place position, the idol revealed on her official blog that she wasn't bitter about her loss.

"During the general election, I got second place," she wrote in her blog entry. "You guys tell me 'I'm sorry', but please don't apologize ('??3??`) I really feel how much I'm loved."

Fans commented, "I'll always always love you," "I'm not an AKB48 fan, but Yuko-chan, you're really incredible as a person," and "In my heart, you're first place!"
