Actress Shida Mirai (18), who voices the heroine Arrietty in Studio Ghibli�s animated film, �Karigurashi no Arrietty (The Borrower Arrietty)�, appeared at a promotional event for the Blu-ray disk and DVD release of the film�on June 16th�at ABC Marunouchi Ground (one of the ABC Cooking Studio centers).

Shida, who challenged herself to make �Arrietty�s Herb Muffin� with the herb that appears in the film, commented that, �Because it is almost Father�s Day, I also wanted to make muffins for my father.� Upon seeing the finished muffins, she appeared pleased as she said, �It smells good and looks tasty.�

Shida, who appeared dressed in "Arrietty-style", wore a deep red one-piece and a red clothes pin hairclip, said, �I always depend on my mother to cook for me,� while she took on the challenge of making muffins for the first time.

She appeared to be having fun as she asked the baking instructor questions while making muffins.

Yonebashi�Hiromasa, who appeared in the middle of the event, presented Shida with a bouquet of flowers. Shida acknowledged that, �Although I was nervous as it was my first time being a voice actor, the atmosphere created by the director allowed me to relax.� Yonebashi Hiromasa also revealed that, �I think that Arrietty�s curiosity, optimism, and slight willfulness suits Shida.�

Shida made an appeal to those in attendance and stated, �In Arietty�s house, many objects are used for daily life. It is too difficult to notice all of them during the movie, but in the DVD, if you think 'Ah!', the film can be paused, so please take the opportunity to take another look at these objects.�

The DVD costs ?4935, while the Blu-ray costs ?7140; both will go on sale starting on the 17th. In terms of bonus content, the DVD and Blu-ray each have storyboards and movie previews. In the Blu-ray, there are dubbing options as well as interviews with Miyazaki and Director Yoneboshi.
