On August 19th, it was revealed that actress Miyazaki Aoi will play the leading female role in the upcoming drama, "Chouchou-san"! This will be her first drama in three years after her work with the NHK Taiga drama, "Atsuhime".

This new series was adapted from a famous Puccini opera called "Chouchou Fujin" or more popularly known as "Madama Butterfly". Miyazaki will play the Chouchou-san, who is forced to go through many hardships and trials.

Since this is her first drama in three years, Miyazaki expressed her earnest goals to do well. �Although there are difficulties in this role such as dancing, playing the flute, and learning the Nagasaki dialect, I would like to act while carrying the burden of her feelings, of child birth, strength, and beauty,� she said.

Other stars participating in this drama include Itou Atsushi and Noda Hideki (who will play her love-interests from different time periods), and American actor Ethan Landry (who will play �Franklin�, another one of her lovers). Other actors and actresses include Nishida Toshiyuki, Toda Keiko, Tomosaka Rie, Yo Kimiko, Ikewaki Chizuru, and Ibu Masatou.

This drama will be broadcasted through NHK�s 'Saturday Drama Special' and will occur back-to-back starting in November. Filming will begin on the 22nd, and will end in October of this year.
