It's been revealed that actor Mukai Osamu will be making an appearance in the TV CM for Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album, which will be released on August 31st.
This collaboration was decided after Mukai played a bassist in the movie, "BECK", which also featured Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Around The World" as its theme song.
Mukai commented, "I used to listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers when I was in high school. I listened to them before games to raise my spirits. When I played the bassist role, I used Flea as my role model, so I played with that in mind. They are one of my favorite artists, so I'm happy I get to make an appearance."
The CM comes in two versions, a "salaryman rock" episode and an "air bass" episode. In the "salaryman rock" episode, Mukai's subordinates leak the company's confidential information, and face a disciplinary dismissal. Mukai is put in the situation where he has to apologize to the boss, and says, "That bassline pushed my back." With the support of Red Hot Chili Peppers' song, he gets down on his hands and knees in order to save his subordinates.
Meanwhile, in the "air bass" episode, salaryman Mukai listens to music on his headphones for a change of mood during overtime. Then, without noticing, he starts playing the air bass in high spirits. Using the theme, "Instead of manipulating the world to dance, we have to dance," the CM expresses the power of rock music.
Red Hot Chili Peppers x Mukai Osamu CMs will start broadcasting on August 30th.
