Child talento Ohashi Nozomi performed her latest single, "Panda no Yume", at the Ueno Zoo on August 7th.

Ohashi sang the song twice for 300 children under the hot sun. She commented, "I was a little nervous singing in front of everyone. I want to promote pandas with songs so people will look them more." Ohashi contributed 500 yen from her 600 yen monthly allowance to the panda fund and said, "I had a 500 yen coin, so I thought that would be okay."

"Panda no Yume" was created to spread international awareness about the importance of protecting rare giant pandas. As a result, Ueno Zoo received two giant pandas in February and Ohashi became 'Ueno's Panda Welcoming Ambassador'. She experienced being an employee for the day at the panda house, preparing bamboo and cleaning panda droppings.

Ohashi expressed, "I was happy to meet the pandas. I was up close, so I really felt their power. It was hot, but they were very energetic."
