On August 8th, popular duo Yuzu held a mini-live at Takata Municipal Elementary School in Rikuzentakata, Iwate to support the disaster victims. On the schoolgrounds, destroyed tombstones were still left lying around.
From a special stage, Kitagawa Yuujin reached out to the crowd saying, "I thought about if there would be a meaning in singing, but I will sing with hopes that everyone in Tohoku will be able to take a step forward." Starting with their hit song, "Natsuiro", the duo sang a total of seven songs.
About 800 people (ranging from elementary students to the elderly) clapped and sang along with Yuzu. High school senior Sugawara Mizuki smiled as she said, "I received the encouragement to do my best."
After seeing the lyrics of "Eikou no Kakyou" hanging in the shelter at Takata High School's indoor practice ground for their baseball club, the victims sent out a letter. Then,Yuzu was invited by the executive committee of the "Ugoku Tanabata" festival to sing for the disaster victims.
