On November 6th, Fuji TV announced that�popular morning news program 'Mezamashi TV's' main newscaster,�Otsuka Norikazu (63),�has been diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia. �He will soon be going under treatment.
According to Fuji TV, Otsuka has been absent on the program since on the 2nd, and is currently hospitalized. � Soon he will start chemotherapy and using anti-cancer drugs. �It was also announced that Ito Toshihiro (39) will stand-in for the newscaster for the time being.
Otsuka commented, "I will be taking break due to the completely unexpected sudden illness. �I promise that I will bear the relentless treatment with my spirit, and make a come back with a sprightly smile again at 5:25 am several months later."
