Actor Ishida Junichi and professional golfer Higashio Riko have announced that they are expecting their first child!

Higashio revealed through her official blog that she first realized she was pregnant on February 26th. After taking a pregnancy test, she went to see the doctor, who officially confirmed her pregnancy. Higashio wrote, "I received my official 'congratulations'."

Ishida and Higashio got married back in December of 2009. Last June, the couple announced that they would be visiting a hospital specializing in fertility treatment.

Regarding the pregnancy, Higashio's agency explained, "We don't know what week she's in right now. Next week, she'll be examined by a doctor again, so we should know then."

Higashio also expressed, "The stable period is after five months and there's a 15% possibility of a miscarriage. I understand that it's early to say anything. However, I decided to report this because I'm prepared to accept my destiny."
