It has been announced that AKB48's 6th Senbatsu Election (June 7), through which the members participating in the next single will be chosen, will be broadcast live on Fuji TV.  Additionally, two days later, on June 9, member Oshima Yuko's (25) graduation performance on the AKB48 stage in Tokyo will also be broadcast live on Fuji TV.

This is Fuji TV's 3rd consecutive year broadcasting the senbatsu election.  Last year, the broadcast saw high television ratings, with the peak at 32.7% and an average of 20.3% (according Video Research LTD.)  This year, the broadcast is titled "AKB48 the 6th Senbatsu General Election Live Broadcast Special" and it will begin airing at 5 PM when the votes are tallied (in some areas, it will air at 7 PM).  At 6:30 PM, it will continuously air the rankings as they are revealed.

The vote tallying event will take place at the main studio in the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo and a relay staff of about 100 people and about 40 cameras will be used. 

Freelance announcers Miyane Seiji (51) and Fuji TV announcer Kato Ayako (29) will serve as facilitators for the senbatsu portion of the program. 

As for Oshima's graduation performance, it will be live broadcast starting at 7 PM.  In August 2012, Maeda Atsuko's graduation performance was also live broadcast by Fuji TV and it received average ratings of 14.3%.
