Kazama Shunsuke's movie "Maebashi Visual-Kei" held a premium advanced showing and press meeting with the cast on February 28th!
In his first lead film role, Kazama plays the vocalist of a Visual Kei Band from the countryside. The movie focuses on the members of the band as they juggle aiming for pro debut with working on their families' farms.
Visual Kei is known for their outrageous makeup, and the actors had some hilarious stories to share behind the scenes. Kazama told the press he would often burst into laughter when he saw his reflection during breaks. Actor Kikawada Masaya, who plays the band's guitarist and leader, added "I have a bit of a phobia of sharp tips, so I cried while putting on eyeliner."
The movie's tagline is "That moment, be serious!", so reporters took the opportunity to ask Kazama what he was serious about currently. With a happy smile on his face, Kazama replied immediately, "I'm most serious when I'm reading mangas at a manga cafe on my own time. My happiness is priced at 400 yen an hour!"
"Maebashi Visual Kei" will enjoy a limited release in Tokyo's Cinelibre Ikebukuro starting March 12th, with the nationwide release on April 9th.
