On July 23, it was announced that actor Nishina Masaki (29) and actress Takigawa Hanako (23) will divorce.

According to numerous sources close to the pair, the couple has already separated. It is said that the pair discussed the divorce with both their mothers, actresses Nishina Akiko (59) and Takigawa Yumi (61), respectively and have already begun divorce proceedings with their lawyers. They cited personality and lifestyle differences as the reasons for their divorce. It has not yet been two years since the two held their marriage ceremony in Guam last January, but it appears that their married life deteriorated quickly.

The handsome and beautiful second-generation acting couple has chosen to divorce after 1.5 years.

According to various sources close to the pair, they fought over trivial matters at the end of last year. Since their marriage, both parties have been busy and have continued with their individual activities. Moreover, despite their attempts to persevere through troubles, trivial matters became the forefront of arguments and caused displeasure for both parties. From the start, personality differences were apparent, but as their married life became increasingly awkward, Hanako rushed quickly into separation and left the couple�s home.

To avoid a divorce, the couple worked hard to discuss their problems. However, after meeting with both their mothers, Akiko and Yumi, and discussing their problems directly, they determined that their married life was irreparable. Both parties are currently in discussion with lawyers and have agreed to divorce talks.

The couple met 10 years earlier through Yumi, who appeared in the play �Kaze no Nagori� with Masaki; after Hanako watched the play, the three went out together to eat. In December of 2008, as if by fate, the pair met again and began dating. On New Year�s Day of 2010, while on a vacation in Guam, Masaki proposed, and they were engaged. On January 11, 2011, the couple registered for marriage, and on January 21, the pair held their wedding ceremony in Guam.

For their wedding, the pair used mass communication through each of their companies to announce their determination for [a successful marriage]: �We think that we can build a warm family because as a husband, I will protect my wife, and as a wife, I will support my husband.�

For Masaki, his father, actor Matsukata Hiroki (70) divorced his mother, Akiko in 1998 when he was 16, and for Hanako, her father, the late Achiha Shinsuke, divorced her mother, Yumi in 1997 when she was 8 years old. Because of this, the pair had hoped to avoid divorce, but it appears that they will not get their wish.

The couple does not have any children. They are currently carrying out their individual activities, which they plan to continue in the future.
