On July 12th, actor Kubozuka Yosuke (34) announced through his official website that he had divorced his wife a month ago.

He reported, "It was about 9 years of married life, but after talking things through with my wife, we decided to 'think about our child first'. It means that this is the best path for the 3 of us. Such a way of speaking is strange, but it's a peaceful divorce."

Regarding the divorce Kubozuka explained, "Since we lived apart for refuge after March 11 (of 2011),�our circumstances didn't change at all. We just decided to cut the ties as husband and wife."

He commented, "For my wife, I intend to continue supporting her including her dance school," and continued, "On paper, I have parental authority over our son. But a child has 2 parents, a father and mother. That attitude won't change, as we will devote ourselves together."

Kubozuka married a non-celebrity woman back in May of 2003, and the couple welcomed their first son in October of the same year.
