The summer season has now come to an end with the last few remaining prime time dramas airing their final episodes over the weekend.

On Friday, TBS aired the last episode of the drama 'Kuro no Onnakyoshi'. It was a disappointing finish with a rating of 8.0% (minus 1.2%), which is a new personal low. This is a rather surprising result, since the other networks weren't significantly stronger than usual. Whatever the reason, its season-average suffered from the weak final and dropped down to 9.86% [9.9%*]. The TV Asahi night drama time slot was once again filled with a short special drama titled 'Shi to Kanojo to Boku' (rating: 6.9%). This live-action adaption of the popular horror manga starred the two rookies Mine Azusa and Ichikawa Tomohiro; and it did better than last week's drama special.

The Saturday prime time slot only has the NHK special series 'Makete, Katsu ~Sengo wo Tsukutta Otoko � Yoshida Shigeru~' left, and that one is gradually losing its steam as well. This week it lost another 0.5% and dropped down to 7.5%. Fortunately there were a couple of drama specials to entertain the rest of the viewers. The most popular one was 'Mi wo Tsukushi Ryouricho' starring Kitagawa Keiko (rating: 12.6%) as an aspiring cook in Edo (Tokyo) during the Kyowa era.

At 11:00 pm, Fuji TV aired the first episode of the two-part drama special 'Watashi to Kare to Oshaberi Kuruma' (rating: 5.4%). In this romantic comedy, Sakuraba Nanami plays a clumsy girl whose life gets changed thanks to an eccentric, talking Nissan Rasheen. Meanwhile, 'Sprout' (NTV) recorded a viewer rating of 2.8% (minus 0.4%).

'Summer Rescue' (TBS) didn't exactly experience a grand final on Sunday as well. Its tenth and final episode recorded a rating of 8.6% (minus 0.8%), resulting in a season-average of 9.92% [10.1%*].
