AKB48 member Kawamoto Saya has announced that she will be graduating from the group. 

Kawamoto made the announcement on July 6 during the broadcast of 'Profile 48' on YouTube. She explained, "I thought hard about whether or not I should announce my graduation during this time when I am unable to see my fans. However, I grew determined to graduate from being an idol and pursue a new path, so I decided to graduate." 

Kawamoto's activities in AKB48 will end in August. An event will be scheduled to sometime late next month at the AKB48 Theater.
