On April 1, it was announced that actress Ueno Juri has left talent agency Amuse to go independent.
Ueno commented, "Thank you everyone for your support. I am also grateful to everyone at the agency who have taken care of me for many years. Now 20 years into my career, I will carry out my work while signing an agent contract with Don-crew. I will continue to connect with everyone through my acting, and move forward in my own way. Please continue to support me."
Hailing from Hyogo Prefecture, Ueno made her debut as the third image girl for 'Clearasil' in 2001. She first gained recognition in the film 'Swing Girls' (2005), where she was a recipient of Newcomer of the Year prize at the 'Japanese Academy Awards.' She then played the role of Noda Megumi (aka Nodame) in the Fuji TV drama 'Nodame Cantabile,' which became one of her best-known works. Since then, she has starred in many movies and dramas.
As for her private life, Ueno married rock band TRICERATOPS's Wada Sho in May of 2016.
