Netflix original drama 'First Love Hatsukoi' will begin its distribution on November 24.
'First Love Hatsukoi' is inspired by Utada Hikaru's songs "First Love" and "Hatsukoi" released in 1999 and 2018 respectively. Starring Mitsushima Hikari and Sato Takeru, the drama will portray the story of one couple's recollection of their "first love" in three different time periods - late 1990's, 2000's, and the present.
Mitsushima will play Noguchi Yae, a woman who aims to become a flight attendant but is tossed about by fate after an unexpected accident. Meanwhile, Sato will portray Namiki Harumichi, a man with a straightforward personality who used to belong to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, but is currently working towards a different path.
Additional cast members include Kaho, Minami, Nakao Akiyoshi, Araki Towa, Aoi Yamada, Hamada Gaku, Mukai Osamu, Iura Arata, and Koizumi Kyoko. Kaho will take on the role of a counselor named Tsunemi, Minami will play Harumichi's older sister Yu, Nakao will be in charge of Bonji, Harumichi's close friend since middle school, Araki will be Tsuzuru, a middle school student who is unaware of first love, Yamada will enact the role of Komori Uta, a dancer who meets Tsuzuru, and Hamada will take the part of Yae's colleague Outaro. Furthermore, Mukai will play a neurosurgeon named Koujin, who provides important clues to the protagonists's fates, while Koizumi will portray Yae's mother Kihako, who trifles with the protagonists's fates.
