Taishi Nakagawa has been cast as Lieutenant Tsukishiro Koito in the upcoming drama series Golden Kamuy: Hokkaido Shisei Shujin Soudatsuhen. This series is a continuation of the popular live-action film Golden Kamuy, starring Kento Yamazaki, and will premiere on WOWOW on October 6th.

Based on the hit manga Golden Kamuy, the series is set in Hokkaido during the late Meiji era. It combines a thrilling mystery about a hidden cache of Ainu gold with intense survival battles featuring a cast of unique characters.

Nakagawa's character, Koito, is a lieutenant in the 7th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army and the devoted subordinate of Hiroshi Tamaki's character, Lieutenant Tsurumi. Koito is a privileged and skilled swordsman known for his intense outbursts in an incomprehensible Satsuma dialect. His role is beloved by fans of the original manga and anime.

Nakagawa expressed his enthusiasm for the role, saying, "I have a deep love for the character of Tsukishiro Koito. While the pressure was immense, I poured everything I had into this performance. I’m proud to say that this role is one that only I could bring to life." Fans eagerly await the series to see how Nakagawa brings this complex character to the screen.
