Produced in collaboration with Grant Boutin and songwriter Will Jay, "MAYBE IT'S ME" represents a shift from his R&B debut. Reflecting on this change, mikah states, "The more pop-oriented sound is a new direction for me, and it reflects who I am right now." The song features melodic vocals over an electronic breakbeat, beginning with a piano intro.
The accompanying music video was filmed in the natural landscapes of Los Angeles at sunset, following a traveler through desert vistas and coastal cliffs. The visuals aim to enhance the song's themes.
Nine months after his debut EP, bleached, mikah continues to develop his sound as a solo artist, following a successful career in various music projects.
