Koike Minami , a first-generation member of Sakurazaka46, has announced her graduation from the group through a heartfelt blog post on January 14, 2025. She revealed that her activities will conclude with the group’s 11th single, “Udagawa Generation,” set to release on February 19.

In her post, Koike reflected on her decade-long journey, starting with her debut as a 16-year-old in August 2015 under Keyakizaka46, later renamed Sakurazaka46 in 2020. She recalled her early years, saying, “During those five years as Keyakizaka46, every performance felt like I was giving everything—body and soul.”

Koike expressed deep affection for the group, stating, “Over time, Sakurazaka46 became a place I loved with all my heart. Yet, I’ve increasingly felt the desire to step back and watch over the group from a distance.”

The 26-year-old also shared her gratitude for fans and fellow members: “I am immensely thankful for the love and support I’ve received. These 10 years have been filled with precious experiences and memories I will cherish forever.”

Koike’s departure marks a significant moment for Sakurazaka46, as she is the last remaining first-generation member. Her fellow members, Rina Uemura and Fuyuka Saito, graduated in October 2024.

Despite the bittersweet announcement, Koike emphasized her commitment to the group, promising to give her all until her final day as a member. Fans have responded with an outpouring of support, celebrating her legacy and wishing her well in her next chapter.
