The seven-member J-Pop boy band, PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE kicked off 2025 with a bang. The group dropped two singles, "Paradise" and "What's Happenin'," in January ahead of their long-held dream of holding their first-ever US tour. 

With the lyrics symbolizing PSYCHIC FEVER's journey, the disco-inspired track "Paradise" serves as the band's anthem for their US tour set to commence in February. Before January ended, the band dropped another surprise single titled "What's Happenin'," this time, a reunion with acclaimed producer JP THE WAVY. The track conveys a heartfelt message of gratitude to their fans.

Their US tour spans six cities: Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Los Angeles, scheduled within February.

To commemorate their latest projects and ongoing tour, tokyohive had the opportunity to catch up with TSURUGI, RYOGA, REN, JIMMY, KOKORO, RYUSHIN, and WEESA to talk about the releases and their new milestone of hosting a US tour. Check out the exclusive interview with the band below!

tokyohive: First of all, introduce yourselves to our readers. Are there any fun facts you would like them to know about you?

TSURUGI: I am a TSURUGI! In the group, I'm in charge of performance structure and creative ideas!

I love fun and always think about exciting things! I'm a big fan of the cowboy style and always wear a cowboy hat! But… I've never ridden a horse!

RYOGA: I'm RYOGA NAKANISHI! In the group, I handle rapping, DJing, and MCing, as well as planning live performances and keeping the group organized. Recently, I drew an omikuji (fortune slip) that said Daifuku (Great Fortune), which is even better than Daikichi (Great Luck). Looks like this year is going to be amazing!

JIMMY: I'm JIMMY! I was born in Aichi, Japan, and I'm 25 years old. My mother is Japanese, and my father is Nigerian. In this team, I’m mostly in charge of music production and live performance planning! Actually, I share the same birthday and hometown as my fellow member, WEESA.

REN: I'm REN WATANABE! I’m in charge of rapping, vocals, and beatboxing! I love to stand out, but I’m actually quite shy!

KOKORO: Hello everyone, I’m KOKORO KOHATSU from PSYCHIC FEVER! I’m the vocalist in the group, but I also use breakdancing as one of my strengths. I’m often told that I’m a bit of a space case!

RYUSHIN: I'm RYUSHIN HANDA! I was born in 2001, so I'm 23 years old! I absolutely love sweets, so I'm always eating them!

WEESA: I'm WEESA. I’m the vocalist. I’m 20 years old and I’m of Moroccan and Korean descent. My hobbies include watching movies and drawing.

tokyohive: You kicked off 2025 with “Paradise.” What made you decide to start the year with that song in particular? I heard that this track is the anthem for your upcoming US tour. What does “Paradise” mean to you personally?

KOKORO: For the upcoming "PSYCHIC FEVER FIRST U.S. TOUR 2025" starting this February, we’ve created a song that has a more glamorous and mature love song vibe compared to our previous works. Back in January of last year, we released "Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY" and were able to kick off 2024 in style. This time, to start 2025 off in the best way possible, we’ve released a track called "Paradise" to mark the beginning of the year.

tokyohive: How was your experience working with the songwriters and producers? Do you have any plans to be involved and dabble in that aspect in the future?

WEESA: This time, with the help of JIGG and ELIONE, who have always been there for us, we were able to create a song that incorporates elements not seen in previous PSYCHIC FEVER works, and I believe we were able to showcase a new side of PSYCHIC FEVER. In the past, JIMMY and I have been involved in creating songs that were released, and we’ve also contributed to the soundtracks in our live performances. Moving forward, we hope to deliver more tracks created by the members themselves to all of you.

JIMMY: For our solo songs, I usually write the lyrics myself, but this time, we asked ELIONE, who has been supporting us since PSYCHIC FEVER’s formation, to write the lyrics. I was involved in the parts of the lyrics that I sing, offering some suggestions and participating in the writing process. I also enjoy writing lyrics for other members, so moving forward, I’d like to get more involved in the songwriting for the members and even contribute songs for the group.

tokyohive: Tell us how the preparations have been for your first US tour this year. What can we anticipate from your performances?

TSURUGI: We’ve prepared a special performance just for you! The song has been re-arranged, and we’ve created a unique package exclusive to the US tour! Plus, we’ll be debuting a brand-new track during the US tour, so I hope you’re all as excited as we are!

RYOGA: This time, since it’s our first live tour in the US, we’ve made sure to include content that introduces PSYCHIC FEVER all over again. Of course, each song has been specially arranged to create a performance that can only be experienced live at the venue. JIMMY and I worked hard in the studio almost every day, pouring our efforts into these songs, so I really hope you’re excited to hear them! And personally, you might even get to see DJ RYOGA in action too!

tokyohive: Performing in the US has been your dream, and that dream is finally becoming a reality. Aside from the fact that you’re going to play on stage, what other things are you looking forward to doing in the US? Are there some bucket list items that you want to share with us?

REN: We went to the US for a media tour before, but this time I’d also like to try the local food and visit some tourist spots! I haven’t seen the Statue of Liberty up close yet, so if I have time, I’d love to go see it!

RYUSHIN: I love food, so I’m really looking forward to trying the signature dishes of each city! I’ve been to LA and NY, but I’m excited to explore famous foods and tourist spots in other cities!

tokyohive: Share with us one PSYCHIC FEVER song you’re excited to perform live.

TSURUGI: It’s "Paradise"! Just like the lyrics, welcome to the Paradise! I’ll make the time with all of you special! We’ll create a space where you can truly feel the vibe, so please look forward to it!

RYOGA: It’s "Paradise." Since it's a new song, I’m really looking forward to performing it in front of all of you. Also, look forward to some special effects and surprises during the performance!

JIMMY: Since it’s our first performance in the US, I’m really looking forward to all the songs, but "What's Happenin’" is one of my favorites, so I’m especially excited for that one!

REN: It’s "Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY"! It’s a song that we’ve had the chance to share with a lot of people in the US, and now we’re performing it for the first time! We really want everyone to feel the energy we put into it! Plus, it’s going to be a special live-only performance, so I hope you’re looking forward to it!

KOKORO: It’s "What's Happenin'". This song was created by JP THE WAVY, who also worked on the production of last year’s "99.9 Psychic Radio". “Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY” is one of our most globally popular tracks, so we’re really excited to debut "What's Happenin'" for the first time during the U.S. tour!

RYUSHIN: It’s "What's Happenin'"! This is one of the songs we’re performing for the first time on this tour, and it’s been such a fun track to perform even during rehearsals with the members. I can’t wait to perform it in front of ForEVER!

WEESA: The newly released "What's Happenin’" is one of the songs I'm really looking forward to performing. Since we’ve never performed it anywhere yet, I’m truly excited for the chance to do it!
