The anime industry event 'ANIME FANTASISTA JAPAN 2026' will be held on July 19th and 20th at Kichijoji Excel Hotel Tokyu, with organizers unveiling details of the main stage programs.
Now in its third year, the event highlights Japanese animation creators, known as "Anime Fantasistas," through talk sessions, live demonstrations, and workshops that explore the creative process behind anime production.
This year's key visual was once again illustrated by animator Takeshi Honda, known for his work as the animation director of 'The Boy and the Heron.'
Highlights from the July 19th program include a talk on 'Cho Kaguya-hime!' featuring director Shingo Yamashita, a creator discussion for
'Trigun Stargaze,' a conversation between Akihiro Nishino and Yusuke Hirota about 'Poupelle of Chimney Town: The Promised Clock Tower,' and a presentation by director Kenji Iwaisawa on animation film marketing strategies.
July 20th will begin with a session called 'LIVE SAKUGA: ChaO,' followed by discussions on unconventional anime production methods, a talk celebrating the launch of Studio Kurm, and a program exploring animation art and color design centered on 'Hanarokushou ga Akeru Hi ni.'
Tickets include both one-day and two-day passes, with sales beginning June 6 through Ticket Pia. There will also be limited premium ticket packages available to commemorate 'Poupelle of Chimney Town: The Promised Clock Tower,' that comes with an exclusive after-talk session, dinner, and drinks.
In addition, the event will introduce a new career consultation area featuring participating studios and companies, including ECHOES, S.o.K, Orange, Studio Deen, STUDIO4°C, Trigger, and BENTEN Film.
