Caroline Lufkin announces her first album after a 5 year hiatus!

allkpop

The indie scene in Japan is rife with interesting artists, but none seem to shine brighter than the very talented musician,Caroline Lufkin. For those of you who are wondering why she sounds so familiar, she's the sister to singer-songwriter OLIVIA.

Caroline has recently announced that her new album, "Verdugo Hills",will be released under her new moniker, 'CAROLINE'. Japan will see a January 12th release date, while fans in the States will be able to grab their copy on January 25th.

It's been four years since her last work, "Murmurs", and CAROLINE has been taking the time to sing with the band "MICE PARADE", as well touring in Japan, Taiwan, and Europe. During this time, she's been garnering more popularity for her raw sound and ambient feel. We've listened to a few of her tracks, and we can definitely agree that she brings something new, something refreshing to the table that stands out from the typical sounds of J-pop and J-rock.

Check out the tracklist as well a clip of her title track, "Swimmer",below!
