'Kyou no Hi wa Sayonara' is based on Miyuki Kazuya's reports of the fight against his disease, 'Oozora e no Tabidachi: Gan to Tatakainagara mo Yumemiteita Mirai'.
Ohno will play Fujioka Kota, a 29-year-old man who is suddenly diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called malignant lymphoma. After being given 3 months to live, he resolves to accept his fate and face death properly.
The additional cast members include Miura Tomokazu (as Kota's father), Kishimoto Kayoko (as Kota's mother), Mimura (as Kota's older sister), and Kimura Fumino (as Kota's girlfriend).
It's been previously revealed that Hey!Say! JUMP member Yamada Ryosuke would also make an appearance as "Harada Nobuo", who lost one of his legs due to the effects of cancer treatment.
