This is the group's 21st consecutive (and 22nd in total) million-selling single, so they have renewed their own records for "the number of consecutive million-selling singles" and "total number of million-selling singles."
This also marks their 20th consecutive million-selling single in the first week since "Everyday, Kachuusha" (released in May 2011). They're the only group / artist to accomplish this.
The first week sales for this single is their second highest to date, just behind the 1,763,000 copies they sold with their 31st single "Sayonara Crawl." However, its first day sales --1,472,000 copies-- exceeded the previous best --1,462,000 copies-- which was made last year with "Labrador Retriever."
"Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai" is also their 27th consecutive single to hit #1 which allowed them to update their records of "the number of consecutive chart-topping singles" (for female artists) and "total number of chart-topping singles" (for female groups).
