On November 9, former AKB48 member Kawaei Rina announced that her first child has been born. 

In the announcement on her Instagram and other SNS accounts, Kawaei wrote, "At this time, I have given birth to my first child. Thankfully, both myself and the baby are healthy. Every day that we spend together has been full of happiness." She continued, "I will continue to do my best so please watch over us warmly." 

Kawaei and her husband actor Nagase Tomoki started dating after starring in the stage play 'Karephone', which was shown in Shanghai last October. They announced their marriage and pregnancy in May.
