Hisaya Nakajo's popular manga Hana-Kimi (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e) will receive a new live-action drama adaptation and its first stage adaptation as part of a major project celebrating the 30th anniversary of the manga's debut.

The eight-episode drama will premiere on Nippon TV on December 5, while the stage production will begin in Osaka on February 13, 2027, the week after the drama's finale, before heading to Aichi and Tokyo.

Hana-Kimi follows Mizuki Ashiya, a girl who disguises herself as a boy and transfers to the all-boys boarding school Ohsaka Academy to meet Izumi Sano, a high jumper she fell in love with at first sight. The romantic comedy was previously adapted into a hit Fuji TV drama in 2007 titled Hanazakari no Kimitachi e: Ikemen Paradise, starring Maki Horikita, Shun Oguri, and Toma Ikuta.

In the new drama, Hana Kawamura will play Mizuki Ashiya, while Makoto Hasegawa of THE RAMPAGE will portray Izumi Sano. Fellow THE RAMPAGE member Itsuki Fujiwara will play Shuichi Nakatsu.

The supporting cast includes Keigo Ito and Yuki Tomita of Ryugujo, Milo Takaoka and Riku Morita of Lienel, Gennosuke, Daigo Kobayashi and Tomoki Nishiyama of TAGRIGHT, Yuki Sakurai of Gekidan EXILE, and Hiroto Takahashi.

All 12 main cast members will reprise their roles in the stage adaptation, with Kawamura, Hasegawa, and Fujiwara serving as the three leads. Additional stage cast members include Haruki Mochida, Ryoya Takahashi, Hideharu Suzuki, VMA (unløck), and Shota Takasaki.

The stage production will be written and directed by Shintaro Sugano and will feature rotating daily segments, video effects, and scenes connecting the stage production to the drama.
