It's been announced that Sakura Gakuin will end their activities in August of 2021. 

Since forming in April of 2010, Sakura Gakuin has seen a number of members come and go as the members must graduate at the same time they graduate from junior high school. After celebrating their tenth anniversary, the staff thought about the future of the group's activities as well as their training methods based the ever-changing environment surrounding the students during such sensitive times along with the recent situation. They concluded that in order for "students to realize their dreams and grow into super ladies who can succeed in various fields," which has been the goal of the group since they first formed, they needed to focus on strengthening individual training and assign activities specialized for each individual member. As such, it was decided that they put an end to the group's career after 11 years and 5 months. 

For the 2020 academic year, Sakura Gakuin will be active from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021. They will not be accepting new students, but will remain as an eight member group (Shiratori Sana, Nonaka Kokona, Tanaka Miku, Yagi Miki, Sato Neo, Todaka Miko, Nozaki Yume, and Kimura Sakia) until disbandment next year.
