On January 19, AKB48's Kashiwagi Yuki (29) held a press conference announcing her transfer to King Records and the release of her new solo single "CAN YOU WALK WITH ME??" on March 3.
Since making her solo debut in 2013, Kashiwagi has been continuously holding solo concerts, and last year, she successfully held her first dinner show. She commented, "Because of the coronavirus pandemic, people all over Japan and the world have been dealing with various difficulties. I myself have thought a lot over the past year. I felt that I've been through a lot and experienced many wonderful things before turning 30 during my 14 years in AKB48."
She added, "Once again, I felt that I need to work even harder to do the things that only I can do in this situation. I will continue being an idol. My dream is to continue being one, and I feel that's what I can do." As an important announcement, she revealed her label transfer and single release saying, "I feel very happy to deliver this during my milestone year; at the same time, I feel like I need it to succeed. I will do my best like I'm debuting again. The taste [of the song] is completely different from what I've released in the past. It's a single that brings out a new side of Kashiwagi Yuki."
The single will be produced by WACK's Watanabe Junnosuke who was asked by Akimoto Yasushi to "produce Kashiwagi Yuki" during a discussion on TOKYO FM's 'TOKYO SPEAKEASY' last May. Kashiwagi said, "I never thought that it would be realized, but I am very happy. He taught me very kindly, so I was able to bring out a side of me that I never had before."
