RADWIMPS have announced that guitarist Kuwahara Akira will be taking a break from his activities. 

This comes after a weekly magazine reported that Kuwahara was having an affair with a woman in her twenties. According to the band's official website, Kuwahara has admitted that what has been reported is mostly true and is reflecting on his actions. After discussion, it was decided that he would be taking a break from his activities for the time being. 

During his break, Noda Yojiro (Vo, G, Piano) and Takeda Yusuke (B) will continue RADWIMPS's activities. In a joint statement, Noda and Takeda commented, "In the current situation, we are unable to picture how we are going to make music together with Kuwahara from now on. We will take the time to reach a conclusion after repeated discussions with the members and staff. Moreover, Kuwahara's wife and child, who will suffer a great deal of damage due to Kuwahara's actions, will always be our family, and we intend to stay connected with them for the rest of our lives. Please excuse the rambling, but these are our honest feelings right now."
