Sakamoto Maaya has announced that she has given birth to her first child. 

Sakamoto married voice actor Suzumura Kenichi in 2011 and announced their pregnancy in December of last year. In a joint announcement, the couple wrote, "The other day, a healthy child was born to us. Both mom and baby are doing well. We will take one step at a time in order to grow together with our child. Please continue to watch over us."
