On November 25th, the iconic idol unit No Sleeves, featuring the dynamic trio of Takahashi Minami, Kojima Haruna, and Mineghishi Minami, brought Zepp Haneda in Tokyo's Ota Ward to life with a special live concert commemorating their impressive 15-year journey.
In front of an enthusiastic audience of around 2,800 fans, the trio took center stage, igniting the venue with their electrifying performance of the ever-popular "Answer."
No Sleeves, AKB48's groundbreaking subunit formed in 2008, has an impressive track record of nine singles, three digital-only releases, and one album. Since their last CD release in 2013 with "Kirigirisu Jin," and subsequent graduations of Takahashi in 2016 and Kojima in 2017, the trio reunited briefly for Mineghishi's graduation concert in 2021. However, this solo concert marks their official return after a five-year hiatus since the memorable 10th-anniversary live in 2018.
The concert was nothing short of dynamic, with the trio delivering passionate renditions of their hits, including the catchy "Pedicure Day" and the ever-popular AKB48 anthem "Heavy Rotation." Midway through the performance, they celebrated Minesaki's recent 31st birthday with a festive cake, and the crowd erupted in joy as a video message from AKB48's maestro and lyricist, Yasushi Akimoto, played, teasing the possibility of a new song for their 20th anniversary.
Amidst the excitement, Takahashi dropped hints about the future, playfully suggesting, "I initially thought it might be a dinner show, but both of them were so enthusiastic. For the 20th anniversary, maybe the Budokan?" Minesaki responded with a grin, "Budokan or a dinner show?" and Kojima, with optimism, mused, "If we come every year, will people get tired?" With their captivating performances and engaging banter, this historic concert concluded, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in No Sleeves' extraordinary journey.
