The 74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, one of Japan's most cherished New Year's Eve TV specials, is all set to dazzle audiences on December 31, 2023. Broadcasting live from NHK Hall, this iconic event promises a grand celebration of music and culture, and the full artist lineup for both the Red and White Teams has been unveiled.
The stage is set for an enthralling evening. NHK revealed the broadcast times, with the show commencing at 19:20 and drawing to a close at 23:45 (JST), briefly pausing for a 5-minute news update.

This year's Kohaku Uta Gassen will be hosted by Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Kanna Hashimoto, Minami Hamabe, and Kozo Takase, ensuring an entertaining and engaging show.
This year, the event's theme is "Borderless: New Year's Eve That Transcends and Connects," serving as a fitting prelude to Japan's 70th-anniversary celebrations of its first-ever television broadcast.
In a significant departure from the norm, no artists affiliated with Smile-Up, Inc. (formerly Johnny & Associates) will grace the stage for the first time since 1980.
