The Japan Record Association revealed the winners of the 38th Japan Gold Disc Awards. King & Prince clinched the Album of the Year (Japanese) for their best album 'Mr.5' and the Single of the Year (Japanese) for their 12th single 'Life goes on/We are young', marking a total of 6 wins.
Their debut best album 'Mr.5' secured the Album of the Year (Japanese), recognized for its outstanding sales performance among singles released last year. It's a compilation of all 16 singles from their debut track 'Cinderella Girl' to 'Life goes on/We are young', along with a new track, marking their first win in this category.
The Single of the Year (Japanese) award went to the double A-side single featuring 'Life goes on', the ending theme of the drama 'Holding Hands at Dusk' starring Ren Nagase, and 'We are young', the theme song of the drama 'Suki Suki Wan Wan!' starring Yuta Kishi. This marked their second consecutive win in this category.
Moreover, King & Prince's albums 'Mr.5' and 'Peace' made it to the Best 5 Albums (Japanese), while 'Life goes on/We are young' was recognized as one of the Best 5 Singles. Additionally, their live video 'King & Prince First DOME TOUR 2022 -Mr.-' won the Best 3 Music Video category, bringing their total tally to 6 awards.
