STARTO ENTERTAINMENT takes legal action against ticket scalping, aims to combat high-priced resales

TH STAFF

STARTO ENTERTAINMENT has announced that it has filed a disclosure request for information about individuals reselling tickets at inflated prices for concerts and events featuring their contracted talents. The company made this move in response to the persistent issue of ticket scalping, which has become a widespread societal problem.

According to a statement released on September 5 via their official website, the company revealed that after conducting its own investigation, they discovered approximately 10,000 instances of resales involving tickets to events featuring their talents. Specifically, more than 3,000 listings were identified for events by the popular group Naniwa Danshi, with over 100 tickets being resold at prices exceeding ¥100,000 (Approx. $700 USD) each.

In light of these findings, STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, in cooperation with Young Communication (YC), filed a disclosure request for 299 instances of suspected unlawful resales under the Provider Liability Limitation Act. The company emphasized its commitment to eradicating illegal ticket resales to ensure that more fans can purchase tickets at their intended prices.
