Beloved duo KinKi Kids, comprised of Koichi Domoto and Tsuyoshi Domoto, has officially announced their new name, DOMOTO.
The announcement was made during their concert, KinKi Kids Concert 2024-2025 DOMOTO, held on December 31 and January 1 at Kyocera Dome Osaka. The duo also hosted a live-streamed event from the venue, where they revealed their decision to rename the group,
marking a fresh chapter in their career.
A New Beginning
Dressed in traditional white attire and seated by a kotatsu, Koichi and Tsuyoshi shared the news in a casual yet heartfelt manner. "It’s like changing the name on a nameplate,” they said, emphasizing that while the name has changed, their bond and essence as a duo remain the same. "We’ll continue to take on new challenges while staying true to ourselves."
What’s Next for DOMOTO
As part of their rebranding:
- A new fan club, also named DOMOTO, will officially launch this summer. A pre-registration site is already live.
- They plan to release a best album (title yet to be announced) later this year.
A message on their fan club website reads:
"We are taking a new step forward. By chance, we share the same name, and with emotions beyond words, we will continue as ‘DOMOTO,’ staying true to ourselves.”
