Erina Ikuta, leader of Morning Musume. '25, has announced her graduation from both the group and Hello! Project. Her final performance will be during the concluding concert of the group’s spring 2025 tour.

This announcement coincides with the 14th anniversary of Ikuta's joining the group as a 9th-generation member on January 2, 2011. In her statement, Ikuta reflected on her journey, saying, "Over these 14 years, I’ve been truly happy to receive more support and encouragement than I ever imagined. Being part of Morning Musume. has allowed me to experience so much, and I feel incredibly fortunate." She added, "Having served as the group’s leader since 2023, I’ve been deeply inspired by the brilliance of the younger members. Witnessing their growth has moved me time and time again."

Ikuta revealed that she has found a new dream to pursue, explaining her decision: "I want to achieve this new dream alongside everyone, not as part of Morning Musume. but as Erina Ikuta. This is why I’ve decided to graduate. The love and support from fans have given me the courage to take this step."

She assured fans that she intends to continue her career in entertainment, stating, "I love being 'Eripon,' and I have no plans to take a break." She also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to have spent half of Morning Musume.'s 27-year history as a member, promising to make the most of the remaining time until her graduation.

Up-Front Promotion also released an official statement confirming Ikuta’s graduation and praising her contributions to the group over 15 years. The statement noted that discussions about her future began in 2022, ultimately leading to her decision to pursue new dreams in a fresh environment.
