Akito Kiriyama from WEST. has announced his marriage to former Japan national volleyball player Maiko Kano through an Instagram post on January 3.

In her post titled “To everyone who always supports me,” Kano expressed gratitude and shared the news of their marriage. She wrote, “Although we are still learning, we will continue to support and encourage each other as we strive to grow further. We humbly ask for your continued guidance and support.”

Kiriyama also released a statement through his agency, STARTO Entertainment, where he conveyed his desire to build a supportive and uplifting relationship with Kano. He added, “I deeply appreciate this change in my life and will continue to dedicate myself to my work with even more sincerity. To all our supporters, we look forward to your continued encouragement.”

The couple’s relationship was first reported in April 2023, with rumors suggesting their bond grew closer after working together on Fuji TV’s 2019 World Cup Volleyball coverage, where WEST served as special supporters.
