CEIPA’s inaugural U.S. event, matsuri’25: Japanese Music Experience LOS ANGELES, has officially sold out, marking a major milestone for the Japanese music industry organization as it expands internationally. The highly anticipated concert, featuring Ado, ATARASHII GAKKO!, and YOASOBI, will take place at the Peacock Theater on March 16, 2025, with a portion of ticket sales contributing to L.A. wildfire recovery through MusiCares.
CEIPA, a key force in Japan’s music industry, launched the MUSIC WAY PROJECT in partnership with Toyota Group, aiming to globalize and sustain the growth of Japanese music. With Los Angeles as a strategic hub, this initiative supports emerging talent through student seminars, professional development programs, and songwriting camps.
A Star-Studded Lineup
The sold-out event boasts three of Japan’s most influential acts:
- Ado, the enigmatic utaite who skyrocketed to fame with “Usseewa” and recently made history as the first female solo artist to headline Japan’s National Stadium.
- ATARASHII GAKKO!, the energetic dance and vocal group known for their viral hit “Otona Blue” and a standout Coachella performance in 2024.
- YOASOBI, the duo behind the international sensation “Idol”, which topped global charts and propelled them to their first dome tour and Asia-wide expansion.
Industry Mixer to Highlight Japanese Music’s Global Rise
Ahead of the concert, an exclusive industry panel and networking mixer hosted by JETRO Los Angeles will bring together key music executives to discuss how festivals and live events contribute to the success of Japanese artists on the global stage. Moderated by Ryan J. Downey (Billboard, MTV, Loudwire), the panel will feature insights from Ellen Lu (Goldenvoice), Tom Windish (Wasserman Music), and Rob Kelso (Creativeman Productions).
CEIPA’s Growing Global Footprint
As the organization behind the upcoming MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN in Kyoto this May, CEIPA continues to cement its role in promoting Japanese music worldwide. With matsuri’25 selling out in its debut year, the event’s success signals a growing demand for Japanese artists in the U.S. market, setting the stage for future international collaborations.
