Singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada made a surprise appearance at Coachella 2025 on April 20 (local time), taking the stage during Venezuelan artist Arca’s set.

Utada joined Arca to perform “Electricity (Arca Remix),” a reimagined version of her song released in February. The appearance had not been announced in advance, making it a complete surprise for fans.

Shortly before the performance, Utada’s team posted a cryptic tweet on X, simply stating:
“Coachella 2025 Arca Gobi stage 8:35 PM (12:35 PM JST).”

The message sparked speculation online, especially as Arca had also shared rehearsal photos earlier in the day.

Videos taken by fans at the scene quickly circulated on social media, showing the emotional performance. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Utada’s elegance, her evolving stage presence, and the chemistry she shared with Arca.
