Hey! Say! JUMP member Ryosuke Yamada will star in the new drama 'Ichijigen no Sashiki,' that's set to premiere in July on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV.
The series is based on Ryunosuke Matsushita's novel of the same name, which won the 2025 'Kono Mystery ga Sugoi!' Grand Prize. The story follows Haruka Nanase, a graduate student researching genetics, who becomes caught up in a mysterious conspiracy after DNA from 200-year-old human remains discovered in the Himalayas matches that of his missing stepsister.
Yamada plays the cool and socially awkward Haruka, who continues to believe his stepsister is alive despite her disappearance four years earlier. He commented, "After reading the original story, I became curious about how someone like me—having met many people, experienced many things, and continued to input and output those experiences throughout my life—would portray Haruka Nanase. That curiosity about myself led me to accept the role."
