After the release of a new best album this fall, Japanese pop/electronica artist MEG will be taking a temporary break from the music industry.

This decision comes very near to her ten year anniversary in the music industry. She hopes that she will be able to take on new challenges in her field next year during her anniversary.
On August 25th, MEG will release her last single on the UNIVERSAL record label called "PASSPORT/PARIS." She will also hold a special events at Sanrio Puroland on October 2nd and 3rd titled "MEG Birthday Party 2010 in Puroland" that will act as birthday parties for the singer. MEG stated on her blog that, "it is not only a birthday party, but also a brief farewell." It is currently scheduled to be her final live event.
Fans can now order tickets for the event on her official site. She will be doing a parade event and a live theater event. There will also be a commemorative photo project. MEG wants the event to be as memorable as possible for all her fans, so do try and make it!
