Retro rock singer Superfly released her new single + album, "Wildflower & Cover Songs: Complete Best 'TRACK3,'" last week and it's been revealed that it reached #1 on the weekly album chart on Oricon.
Although the "Wildflower" part of the release is a single, the remaining package is an entire cover album, which allowed the album to go into the album rankings on Oricon.
Her first album "Superfly" (2008) and her second album "Box Emotions" (2009) also made the #1 spot on the weekly charts upon their release. This is quite an achievement for the singer, as she managed to get three consecutive releases on the Oricon charts at the number one position. She is the first singer since Mika Nakashima seven years ago to earn the chart-topping honor.
