The film Kuroi Juunin no Onna (usually translated as "Ten Dark Women" or "Ten Black Women"), directed by Ichikawa Kon in 1961, will be getting a stage adaptation! The adaptation will be led by actor/playwright/director Keralino Sandorovich (47) with the participation of the acting troupe, Nylon 100C.
This is the first time that the movie will be made into a stage adaptation, and NylonC's first time basing a play on a film as well. However, the movie did have a special television drama adaptation in 2002, which Ichikawa directed himself.
"Ten Dark Women" is expected to open in Tokyo next spring.
