allkpop

Singer and songwriter Uemura Kana (28), who is best known for her hit song "Toilet no Kamisama", held a concert for earthquake victims.

Uemura ventured out to Kanuma city in Tochigi prefecture and held a concert at the Kanuma Sogo Gymnasium for victims of the tragedy hitting the Tohoku Area. About 100 people attended the event, many of whom were directly affected by the earthquake and others who were evacuess from the Fukushima Nuclear Plant incident. She sang her hit single "Toilet no Kamisama" along with other songs. She commented, "I hope they feel even a little joy, warmth and happiness through my songs."

A little girl named Yuuki Mana (8) was celebrating her birthday the day of Uemura's concert. She gave Yuuki the picture book of "Toilet no Kamisama" as a gift. Not only that, but it appears Uemura signed autographs for everyone in attendance.

A housewife from Minami Souma city in Fukushima explained to Uemura that she had to leave her grandmother behind when she evacuated from her home, and with tears in her eyes, said, "I'll call grandma to let her know that the god came to us." Uemura's song seems to have definitely uplifted the people who attended.
