Actress Kichise Michiko's drama "Hagane no Onna" concluded filming recently, and she was given a thoughtful surprise from her on-screen students.

On the last day of filming, Kichise was presented with a card containing the photo and messages of all 24 child actors who played her students. Already teary, the actress burst into tears when the students also gave her a photo album and expensive ballpoint pen as a surprise.

She commented, "In parallel with the students' growth in the drama, the children who played (the roles) also grew... My parental instinct has been shaken, and I ended up crying."

Season two of "Hagane no Onna" was Kichise's first leading role in a drama series since her marriage last December.

She left the shoot with the words, "I'm positive this work will be loved by everyone."
